Friday Favorites

Well, my favorite thing about this week is that it is over. It has been a long one. But I guess it couldn't have come at a better time considering we have a 3-day weekend ahead! Yay!!

This week for Friday Favorites I have the lovely Jennifer co-hosting with me!! She and I will be running this little party together from now on, so hopefully you guys can all meet a whole new set of friends!

I also apologize in advance for my limited number of favorites this week. I wasn't able to do as much internet trolling and blog reading as usual. How rude for work and life to get in the way, right?!

FAVORITE OUTFIT
I am loving high waisted shorts these days. This is not the first pair that I have favorited for a week. B could not disagree more. He thinks high waisted shorts are weird. But what does he know? I love how she paired them with a bigger shirt that highlights her tiny waist!

The Stylish Housewife
FAVORITE RECIPE
I typically stop reading after Nutella. If it has Nutella in it, I will eat it. No matter what. While cereal seems like it might be more work than its worth, I might just have to try this Nutella Breakfast Cereal from A Beautiful Mess.

FAVORITE DIY
I always have a hair tie around my wrist. At someone during the day I will want to put my hair up and I hate it when I can't find a hair tie. Obviously, it's not the most glamorous accessory, so I love what I Spy DIY did to jazz it up. I feel like I could totally knock these out over the weekend.

What were some of your favorite things from the week? Link up, below! All we ask is that you follow Jessica or I on some platform (GFC, Bloglovin, Twitter, etc.) and that you link back and share the link-up with your readers!

Red, White, Blue & Pink.

Pants: JCrew (also similar here), Top: H&M (similar), Jean Jacket: Old Navy (old, similar), Shoes: Converse, Watch: Nordstroms (old, similar), Purse: Kate Spade (old, similar)

I have only had these pants for a month now, but I have been finding any excuse to wear them. One day I may look back on these pictures and think, "what the heck am I wearing?!". That day it not today. Not. To. Day. I love them and all of their crazy geometric-ness. Plus, when paired with a red top, they are perfectly patriotic. I also like pairing them with neon and throwing back to the '80s.

Skirt: JCrew Factory (exact, similar), Shirt: JCrew (on sale!), Sandals: Madden Girl via DSW (similar), Purse: Kate Spade (similar), Watch: Nordstroms (similar), Sunnies: RayBan

This is fast becoming one of my favorite skirts of the summer, except that I found it it's dry clean only...after I washed it. Oops! And I have a major soft spot for blue and white stripes. This is not the first time I have paired blue and white stripes with pink, nor will it be the last.

Pink Stripes

Dress: Asos, Shoes: Jack Purcell, Bag: Nine West via DSW (old, loving this and this), Sunnies: Ray Ban, Watch: Kate Spade, Bracelets: (similar, similar)

This is my new favorite day dress. It is light and super comfortable. It's like wearing a big t-shirt. But a little cuter than a big, oversized shirt. It's hard to tell, but it not only has the stripes, but little Funfetti-like spots. Perfect for camouflaging any stains that one my get from some uncooperative ketchup and or diet coke. Not that I would know anything about that...

I wore this dress over the weekend when B and I took a trip up to Lake Norman, just north of Charlotte. I had been feeling cooped up in the house lately, so it was really nice to get out and explore a new part of the state. On our drive back, we stopped at Davidson college and walked around campus. I found a swing hanging from a big tree and couldn't help but take a swing. I can't tell you the last time I was on a swing, but it felt damn good. Everyone should go swing on the next swing they see. I'm pretty sure it knocks about 5 years off the ol' clock.
