Nautical by Nature

For those who know me well, the color scheme of my wedding should come as no surprise. Maybe I have been influenced by my proximity to the bay growing up, but I have always loved the navy and white color combination. Since we are getting married on a Naval Base right on the bay, I think the nautical theme will be perfect.

Now, don't misunderstand, I am not talking about sailboats and anchors, a la J. Crew summer 2012, nautical.

I really like the idea of incorporating stripes, watercolor, rope, and burlap elements without getting too eclectic. Maybe just water color and/or stripes for all of our paper details (invitations, programs, etc) and using burlap and rope for some of the reception details (table runners, bouquet wrap, etc).

I'm sure that this will evolve in the next few months, but all of these elements should be easy (and cheap) to execute myself. And that is key!
