If you have gotten married, you might know what I am talking about. About half way through the wedding day, while getting ready, I was thinking "This is what J Lo must feel like!!" Here are all the ways I think bring a bride is like being a celebrity.
1. You are constantly getting photographed.
How many cameras can you spot? |
2. You have an entourage, i.e. the wedding party.
3. For the past 4 weeks you have been on all sorts of diets and cleanses to fit into a dress.

I drank 1-2 of these every day the week before the wedding. |
4. You have a team of people who have been hired to make you look beautiful.
5. You've spent months (and a lot of money) finding the perfect dress and getting it fitted, only to wear it once.

6. After your big event, you go to In-and-Out...or eat everything you have been depriving yourself of.
7. You can tell people to get you coffee or lunch, and they won't tell you to eff off.
8. People are obsessed with what you are wearing, from your dress to your jewelry.

Not going to lie, it was kinda fun to be pampered and doted on all day. And, as much as I hate being the center of attention, all that attention wasn't terrible. But I would hate to actually be a celebrity. That is about as close as I ever want to be to being a celebrity.
Did you feel like a celebrity on your wedding day?
I'm a total behind the scenes kinda person. I love to put everything together, make it 'perfect' then step back and let people enjoy. Going into the reception and having to mingle and make sure you tried to talk to everyone was the worst part. AGH!! But you were a beautiful bride, there should be a day a year we are allowed to wear our dresses again, dont you think?!
ReplyDeleteI totally felt like a celebrity on my wedding day! It was awesome! On the other hand, I'm dreading my sister's upcoming wedding antics. She already bosses me around, god only knows what she'll have me doing on her wedding day!
ReplyDeleteI was the same way - I generally hate being the center of attention at events (unless I'm with super close friends or giving a prepared speech or something) but on my wedding day it wasn't so bad and I kind of loved it! I'm glad you had such a great time :-)
ReplyDeleteYou've pretty much nailed the entire experience! I remember having people put my shoes on for me because my skirt was too big for me to get to them and they were strappy with tiny buckles. And it actually rained right before our wedding (which was inside thank goodness) but the ground was muddy, so they actually put down towels for me to walk over so save my dress and shoes. It was seriously like being royalty. lol
ReplyDeleteI very much intend to feel like a celebrity on my wedding day! Although yes I would hate to have that level of attention all the time but just for one day to have that amazing made-to-fit dress and hair and make up and everyone doting, that's rather nice!
