2. In the end, I bought no candy. But did buy a Parbal Gurung dress and some Valentine's Day baking supplies. On sale, of course.
3. Friday night, B and I sat down to a nice dinner. Steak, steamed veggies, and heart shaped sweet potatoes. Yes, I am the nerd that cut the sweet potatoes into hearts.
4. Clearly all the effort was put into dinner, because for dessert I made a plate of Oreos.
5. Saturday morning I got up bright and early for my cake decorating class at Johnson Wales.
6. I think my cake turned out pretty well. I am planning a post about the class later this week.
7. After class, I went for a stroll and snapped this picture. It's hard to tell, but clearly in this picture it's not snowing.
8. 2 hours later, this is what it looked like outside. Apparently what we experienced was something called Thunder Snow. All I can think about is this:
Sunday, I took no pictures. But that's okay. They would have been boring anyways. B and I went to the mall to find him some pants. Apparently no one makes pants long enough for him. Now I understand why he hates shopping. To make him feel better, we stopped at Costco and he got himself a new TV. Don't tell him, but I can't really tell the difference between the new one and the old one.
How was your weekend??

sounds like you had a great weekend! I love the heart shaped potatoes even if you feel nerdy for cutting them into hearts :-P

Seeing everyone posting about their Target Valentine's day clearance purchases is not helping my "no shopping in February" rule :( Also, I can't wait to hear about the cake decorating class. I always think about taking one, but never have.

PS -- Drooling over the candy. For realz!
Does it make me a nerd that I get excited when we have Thunder Snow? It makes the nutrients on the ground soak into the soil with the snow melting better than just general rain or general snow. It's what helps make really green and pretty pastures! lol I know because if we have a couple of thunder snows we can usually put off buying hay for the animals until further into spring! :)
ReplyDeleteBtw, the cake is cute!!
I loved the Prabal Gurung dress, but it didn't look right on me! Love your heart sweet potatoes :) Thanks for linking up doll!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from the link up! I had big plans to clean out the candy on Friday too...but restrained. I did walk out with one bag of peanut butter MMs, but decided I didn't need to eat anymore... And your cake looks great!

Oreos are perfectly fine for dessert. Or breakfast. Or dinner. Or pretty much anything. I may or may not be addicted to them...
ReplyDeleteYour cake looks so good! I've wanted to take classes - mostly so I don't shame my momma who went to school for decorating LOL. I'm so horrible at it!
