10 More Things Every Woman Should Have by 30

A few weeks ago, I posted a list of 10 things every woman should have by the age of 30 that was originally posted over on Who What Where. Their list was mostly wardrobe essentials, and based on that list I have a little bit of work to do. But that got me thinking about some other things that I think every woman should have by 30. And most of these things are not limited to the closet.

1. A Go-To Recipe.

This could be anything from a killer chocolate chip cookie to your grandma's recipe for chicken pot pie. Whatever it is, it's something you know by heart (or close) and can do really well.

2. The Perfect Dress

The perfect dress is one that you can wear over and over again and it never feels old. It can be worn for almost any occasion, dressed up or dressed down and fits you like a glove. 

3. A 401k

As nice it would be to have a closet full of beautiful clothes, shoes, and accessories, you know what's even nicer? Being able to retire.

4. A Signature Drink

B knows he can always order me a glass of wine.

Your signature drink could be a Diet Coke with lemon or a Dirty Martini. Either way, your signature drink should be something that your friends or significant other can order for you without having to ask.

5. A Hobby

Maybe your hobby is scrapbooking, running, or blogging. If you are a parent, maybe your hobby revolves around your kids. All that matters is that it makes you happy and gives you a little escape.

6. A Friend Who You can Call Whenever
This one really goes without saying. Everybody needs that person to celebrate with, cry with, vent to, and to cheer them up.

7. A Really Good Joke

A good joke is short, succinct, and not offensive. Sometimes you just need a good icebreaker or conversation starter.

8. A Goal
I think it's important to have something that drives you on a day to day basis, whether its losing weight, running a marathon, getting a promotion, or paying off debt.

9. A Good Set of Stationary

Personalized or not, having a good set of stationary around will always ensure that you are prepared to write a hand written note to say "thanks", "sorry", or "thinking of you".

10. A Killer Set of Heels

You may not be a shoe person, but I am, so I think it's important to have a set of heels that immediately elevate your look, your posture, and your attitude.
