I did a lot of things this weekend. Maybe "do" isn't the right word. I made a lot of things. B and I also watched a lot of movies this weekend. It was sort of the perfect for that. The weather was iffy. It would be nice and clear in the morning, but by the afternoon it would be cloudy and rainy. It was great to just stay in and hang out, do some projects, and watch some movies.

As I mentioned on Saturday, I altered two dresses that were just sitting in my closet getting no use and turned them into skirts. I am very pleased with how they turned out. I even wore the long blue one out to lunch on Sunday and the pink floral one to work today! Not a bad way to "add" some "new" pieces of clothing to my closet. (The picture below makes me realize the power of a good accessory. I am not an "accessorizer" but maybe I should become one.)

I also decided to do something with these random wood squares I got a couple months for a completely different project. I decided to just do something simple with them and I write one of my favorite song lyrics (translated to French) on them in gold paint pen. "Mon ami pour toujour. Pour toujour mon amor." And yes, if you speak French, I am aware of the spelling errors. B wanted to just write something random in French so that people would comment and say "oh, that's so lovely, what does it mean?" and we would say "it means 'I like to move it, move it'".
The only other thing this weekend needed was some baking. On Saturday, I attempted one of Martha's cookie recipes I found when I was sorting through some old magazines: Potato chip cookies. I actually had everything to make them so I thought I would give them a shot. Guess what...not so great. I ended throwing them all out. On Sunday I made up for it by making some buckeye bark as seen on Pinterest. I tried to make it a little healthier by substituting the butter with dried apricots and the sugar with Stevia. It was actually pretty good! I will share the recipe later this week.
