Dress Looking

My mom is coming into town tomorrow for a work event that last through the weekend. We are going to take advantage of this time while she's here to go look at some dresses. I am definitely NOT buying a dress tomorrow or this week while she's here. Heck, I probably won't even buy a dress this year!

And even though I have no intention of purchasing a dress, I do think looking for one now can be beneficial to me (and mom).

First of all, since I am looking to save money in all areas, including the dress, I might find a dress while she's here that I love. If I am lucky, maybe next season or next year when I am ready to buy, that same dress will be on sale. Likewise, I may also be able to find the dress used which would save even more money.

Secondly, I will be able to see what styles look good on me. I have a general idea of what dress styles fit my shape, but I do not go out buying evening gowns very often so I can never be sure. Once I figure out what looks good on me, I will be able to narrow down my future search, or if I see an awesome online deal I will be better informed as to whether or not it will work for my figure.

Lastly, it will give my mom and I a chance to have the traditional wedding dress shopping experience. Likely, my wedding dress shopping will not be traditional. I may buy a white evening gown off the rack at a store like Nordstroms or Saks. I may buy a used dress, or even rent the dress. Also, because my mom lives in California and it doesn't make sense for her to fly out every time I plan to go look for dresses, this may be one of the only times she can physically look for dresses with me. I definitely value her opinion and she will definitely give me honest feedback as to how the dress looks.

All I know is that this will be fun! What girl doesn't like to play dress up!?
