Flowers can be a huge budget buster. I have been to weddings where the couple (or their parents) have spent probably tens of thousands of dollars on flowers. We are going to try to make do with $1,000 or less (hopefully less). To save money, we are having a friend do the flower arrangement and bouquets. He is not a professional florist, but is really talented and has a passion for it so I know he will do a great job. Another way we plan to keep costs down is to pick flowers that are in season during the fall.
I am not very flower savvy, so I had to look up which flowers those are. Here's what I found:
1st Row: Acashia, Allium, Alstromeria; 2nd Row: Amaranthus, Anemone, Baby's Breath; 3rd Row: Bittersweet, Carnation, China Berry; 4th Row: Chrysanthemum, Cockscomb, Cosmos
1st Row: Echinops, Freesia, Gerbera Daisy; 2nd Row: Gladiolus, Hypericum, Iris; 3rd Row: Juniper, Kangaroo paw, Kalancheo; 4th Row: Liatrus, Lily, Misty Blue
1st Row: Orchid, Pepper Berry, Protea; 2nd Row: Queen Ann's Lace, Quince, Rover; 3rd Row: Roses, Rowen Berry, Salvia; 4th Row: Solidago, Statice, Star of Bethlehem; 5th Row: Sunflower, Yarrow, Zinnia.
Phewwff...that is a lot of flowers. I can weed out a few based on my color scheme. Come fall, I will check the wholesale prices of the remaining flowers and see what fits in my budget.
